Hi,

I have a pop-up box with this message everytime I connect to the Internet. It pop-ups about 5 minutes into the connection :

This shutdown is initiated by NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service terminiated unexpectedly.

Then the system just restarts. The same thing happens again everytime I connect to the Internet.

Is this a virus? My notebook has a WinXP OS. How do I rectify this? Is it possible to change anything in the registry or look out for any foreign .exe?

Thanks for any help!

Hello!

Cleaned my Comp. 3 steps:

(1) Enabled firewall in XP.
Network Settings>Right click>Properties>Advanced Tab>Check first box

(2) Run Removal Toolkit from Symantec for Win32.MSBlast.Worm
removal.tool.html

(3) Installed Patch for XP

Was terrible while it lasted. :(
