Hi

I am almost finished my first flash site but I would like to add a flash guestbook to finish it. I would like the book to be a full part of the site and not have to call another html page to open it. Is this possible ? My site is based on a kirupa.com tutorial and I would like this to be a self contained swf that can be loaded from my navigation buttons.

I do not know how to begin and my actionsctript skills are limited.

I've never looked into it, but it doesn't seem possible without server side scripting of some sort... Hope you can deal with that!

if your server supports php i have a very basic guestbook you can download. you would have to change 2 lines of code (to your own url) but thats it.

Good news is I can have my guestbook.

Billwatson yours is very similar to the one Oldnewbie linked me to but I got yours to work. I couldnt get the flash-db one to work. My fault not yours Oldnewbie.

This is a great forum. I may be new but I will be back.

reason for similarity is that mine is the flash-db one cut down to basics and altered for mx. plus a few changes to the php file.

on the flash db forum there are many people who cant their downloads to work. not their fault...just many of that stuff requires some knowledge of php and actionscript to adapt the files to their requirements.

i just cut out all the stuff that might cause problems and left the basics with no need to alter the php file.

anyway bottom line you got it work. well done.
