i m having a little problem installing windows 2000 pro at a computer with a mobo atc 6240. When i reach the part of "installing network components" any ideas on this????
Without knowing what errors are coming up, or if the system is crashing / not reading the Cd etc etc. no one here will be able to give you any ideas. All they can do is guess whats going on.
When i'm installing windows 2000 pro on that computer and other with the same mobo when i get to that part "installing network components" it shuts down it self. I'm updating the bios, well at least the lates version again to see if that helps out. But i don't have an idea of why this is going on.
Has the machine had another operating system successfully installed/running on it? If so, which?
You could try removing the network card (or disabling it in bios if onboard), if you have one & see if 2k will then install. Then try adding it back after install (it may be any hardware problem - but as it happens when installing network, start there). If installs, then won't take card, replace it.
