this is the message i keeo getting.

Invalid UserID:The connection user ID specified in the system database profile is not valid.

i will appreciate anyhow help on how to fix this problem

Thank u

How do do i do that??? and if i run the database setup will this do any damage to the data????

when i run the setup this is what i get

Unable to connect to the database (error=129).

Your credentials are wrong. Call your IT department to get the right ones.

I found a link on the Sage site to error 129. It means "Database bad user id".

Hi Tuba, the credentials are correct, we are logged in as admin,

No, they're not. The Sage ADMIN credentials have no relationship to the SQL login credentials.

Tuba, i did what u said and run the database setup, however it wont work, the SA account password keep failing.

so i cannot run the setup

Then your SA password is wrong. Or your SQL server isn't set up for SQL authentication, it's set up for Windows only.

When you log into the Sage database setup program using the ADMIN user and related password that logs you in to a database that is not connected with SQL Server. That's why your ADMIN credentials are working. However, you still need to create two database connections: one is called the system database and the other is the company database. Both should use the same sql username and password combination but they will each connect to a separate SQL Server database. If the link to the system database is incorrect then you will not be able to open the company within Sage itself. And, obviously, if the connection to the company database fails you'll have the same problem.

Also do not use the SQL SA user because IT people tend to change the password on you, setup a specific SQL user like sage or sage300 and then use that.
