You are able to reset the password, however you were right on your assumptions of losing all configurations.
To reset your password, proceed by powering on the Office Connect Remote 510 unit with the reset button depressed, and then release after the lights have flashed.
On the terminal screen the following text will be displayed:

After a short while the following text will appear on the terminal screen:

Press for Loader
At this moment the reset button has to be pressed again (and released). If this is done on the right moment, the following text will appear on the terminal screen:

OCR LOAD x

After pressing the ENTER key on the terminal keyboard, the following menu will appear on the terminal screen:
OCR LOAD x
1. Remote Load Code
2. Remote Load Boot
3. Remote Load Data
4. Erase Data
5. Cancel
Choose option Erase Data.
This means that the configuration, including the password, is being erased now.
The Office Connect Remote 5xx unit has to be powered off and on and should be accessible again with the default password: PASSWORD (case sensitive!).
