Configuration :
-server W2K
-Networker 6.2
Question :
I try to execute the backup with another scheduler but i have a problem to stop de backup processing.
I use unicenter workload and i execute a batch file with "savegrp -G GroupName".
I try to stop the group with the GUI of Networker administrator but it doesn't work, have this message
<<only automatically started groups that are currently running can be stopped>>
I try than to end the process on the server (end of the CMD process from the batch) and it's ok but the savegrp process still continue to run.
I than try to end the process savegrp but i have allways <<access denied>> (rem : i try with multiple users).
The services are started with local system account.

Can somebody help me with this problem.

What about using &quot;kill&quot; to stop the savegrp process?

This is available from the resource kit.

Hi 605,
Yes it works with a kill, but it doesn't help me for what i want to do.
if there is a multiple backup busy it's impossible to know witch process is the good one to stop and the problem stay the same because with the kill you stop only the savegrp process but not all the other like for example the nsrjb process that have been started also.
What i want to do (if it's possible) is to start and stop like in the GUI the different groups, when i start the savegrp with my scheduler (unicenter workload)i can stop the execution of the batch with a kill method (inside the program) but still it stay running.

Although this does not seem to be very elegant, i think a good and simple idea is to start a new shell, like with

start savegrp -l level -G group_name

This opens a new window. However, if you use ^C or close this window, all subprocess should also be stopped.

We run the same setup here and the only way I know of clearing the &quot;Running&quot; messages is to RESTART the group and let it finish whatever it was backing up or RECYCLE the Networker Services.
