macromedia-director support centre has given like this

MIDI is not a natively supported file format in Director. Third party Xtras have been available in the past for controlling MIDI files or sending MIDI data within Director. You will find a listing of Director Xtras at:
Another alternative is to use a QuickTime cast member in Director to play MIDI files (QuickTime would have to be installed on the end users machine). QuickTime Pro will let you import a standard MIDI file which creates a new QuickTime movie file with just a MIDI track (a "music" track in QuickTime terminology). You can then import this QuickTime movie in Director and have control over playback of the movie through Lingo, just as you would with any QuickTime cast member.
for further details pl check macromedia director support centre
