Hi All

We have an NT network. Upgraded the pdc to Win2k with active directory.
It worked fine for some time with the win2k as pdc. Now we promoted one of the NT bdc's to a pdc and the win2k becomes a BDC.
To this point it is fine. The problem is we can't no more promote the win2k . Is that possible? Or what have we done wrongly?
Please your urgent help is appreciated.

FYI There are no BDC's using Win2k. You can have as many domain controllers as you would like but one has the roles of the FSMO. If your main DC goes down then you would promote another to assume the roles of FSMO.

But how about our situation? single win2k server and others all NT4 and now the win2k is down. how can I bring it back as a pdc!!!!! this is mixed mode

I see on my Nt4 server manager W2k as bdc.
