Hi All,

Is there any threads here that discuss Voice Mail Indicator Light Delays with "Off-Site" IP phones registered to a remote core?

I have an IP phone, that is based in a remote office that's registered straight over the LAN/WAN to our core PBX. (No onsite Gateway)

When a voice mail is left, there is a delay in the MWI. Whether it's left or retrieved.

The light takes a while to appear or disappear. We see the v-mail right on Equinox, but not the desk phone.

Any Ideas?

Not really. Generally speaking, with Avaya voicemail, it sends a SIP Notify with 'mwi on' or 'mwi off' addressed to the user and SM's dial plan knows to route that to CM. When CM gets that message, it triggers turning the lamp on for a TDM phone or H323 phone or sending a SIP Notify subsequently to SM for any SM registered devices - like a SIP desk phone and a iPhone running Equinox - to know to turn the lamp on.

What kind of hard phone is getting delayed MWI?

What is the extension set to on page 2>feature options>WMI Served User type? Should be set to sip-adjunct.

Gm All!

To answer both questions:

- The phone(s) are 9641G's and 9611's.

- And I just checked my own 9641 and found that the MWI Served User Type is Blank.

So, I'm going to change that now and see if that will solve the issue.

Thank you!! I'll report back with results!

Can you trace the delay between the NOTIFY message from AAM and your client receiving them?
