Hi all,
is there a way to get the client to query an access database on the internet through client side programming without server side code.

I have a client who wants an access database placed on a free server with no server scripting allowed and be able to query it.

Regards

Mark

Mark,

It might be possible to instantiate some sort of client-side object in JavaScript to access the Access database, but that may well be limited to IE only.

I don't have any examples, but if I can find any, I'll post them for you.

Thanks for that, any help in any direction will be much appreciated

I have checked that link out but it I just get a list of linkds and when I choose one it seems that its mainly about ASP and I cannot use that.

You need to view the page in IE - I too get a list of links if I view in, say, Opera...

That's Microsoft for you ;o)

Thanks Raji, but I have check this out already and it does not seem to have a lot of help for this kind of issue

Mark,

Not sure why the MSDN pages aren't working for you. There's too much information to copy and paste, but here are some more pointers for you:

- Use Google to search for information on "Microsoft Remote Data Service (RDS)"

- Use Google to search for "BD96C556-65A3-11D0-983A-00C04FC29E33" (the class ID for RDS)
