Hi All;
I ma new unix user. I have to take care of some SA responsibilities in HP-UX (11.0).
I have huge problem and it is an emergency.
I must have locked root by putting in wrong password.
I get the message when I try to login as su "Password:
Account is disabled - see Account Administrator"
then I tried ps -ef. At the end of the list i saw
/hpapache2 -k start which I never seen before.
I would appreciate all the help that I can get to get the root FS running.
THanks in advcance

hpapache2 -k start (Looks like apache2 is running nothing wrong.

Try to interrupt the boot process by hitting ESC on the main boot screen.

Then, type "boot search" at the prompt. Localize your main boot partition. type "boot <partition> isl" OR select "Y" if the system eventually asks you to "Interact with the ISL". Maybe "boot pri isl" will do it also.

It loads an ISL prompt. At the ISL> prompt type "hpux -is".
After the thing loads, type "/usr/sbin/mount -a".

After all you can finally change your passwd, try "passwd root". Or u can edit /etc/passwd and strip the encoded password that is there (stuff between the 1st and 2nd ´:´),
...reboot the machine after "/usr/sbin/shutdown -r now"

Good luck.
Jeffo.
