Hi all,

I have oracle9i_1 installed on a solaris8 sparc machine but i'm having problems creating a db with dbca.
The scripts are generated without a problem but each time when I select "finish" it pops up a message saying that / (root) doesn't have enough free space, but i specified the file location to be in the /data/oracle/<sid> path.
In the script I have specified all the paths using the absolute paths instead of the variables (ora_home,...)
The file location variables box shows the correct locations for each setting, but to no avail, it insists in installing the db in the root folder no matter what I try.
Any help is greatly appriciated and most certainly welcome :)
Obviously it *must* be an environment setting, but which one causes it to behave like this ?

Thanks

instead of "create database now" option during the dbassist process,

take the "save information to shell script" option

then check the scripts.

Hi,

Did that but it all pointed to the /data/oracle location.
Took all env settings from another machine and placed them in .profile.
Works ok now :)
