Hi guys I have a BCM50 r2 with calls going to a HG with 3 extensions set to broadcast, overflow is 30 seconds & the overflow hunt group has 3 extensions set to rotary. All simple stuff but the customer says that sometimes the calls ring directly to the overflow hunt group. I have checked the programing but all looks OK and fault is intermitant but customer insists that sometimes calls miss out initial hunt group.The lines are ISDN2e & this or rather the customer is doing my head in is there any known issues?

No issues that I know of but make sure that the BCM is patched up to current. The scenario you describe would happen if all the HG members were on a call.
 
Thanks oldestgeek I know of no issue here either I am begining to think it is a faulty customer as opposed to the BCM. JON
 
Remember with hunt groups, not all calls will ring on all phones. The customer might be noticing when they're on a call, only the other 2 phones ring. To them, the call skipped them. This is why hunt groups are a bad choice to use for multiple receptionists.
 
Rotary only one phone at a time will ring, if its busy it will look at the next phone in the group and so on.
Even in Broadcast sets that are in use will not ring, so if all 3 on phone it will overflow.

Thanks everyone.The first group is broadcast and the second rotary but customer insists phones in first group do not ring even when not in use sometimes.
 

Could it be a direct call to one of the members instead?
 
I am not sure but I thought I read you cannot overflow to another hunt group no matter if it is rotary or broadcast.
