Hi all,
We have three sites with two OpenScape v2 x8 and one Hipath 3550 with HG card. All site are networked .
LAN interface in Openscape and HG card has public ip address.
Now we are trying to use HFA phone with Openscape V2 x8 system with ip client license.
The HFA set is registerd with the system can dial but voice conversation was not functioned. SIP phone is working normally.
We want to use HFA phone due to the account code ( mandatory) is used.
We have tried with WAN interface with Public ip and Lan with Private ip, in this setting HFA phones works normally. But Network between sites didn't work.

In our experience the HFA phones doesn't work with NAT.

Please advice.

Thanks.

Hari

I'd suggest making sure all of the codecs are enabled in the HFA phone.

So the HFA register and dialled, but there was no audio on answer?
Was it one-way or no audio?

If so you need to look at your network routing. While the call setup goes through the servers, the audio stream goes point to point.
If one site cannot access the IP range of another site, then you will experience one way audio
If SIP works but HFA doesn't then it could be the port range is diffeent and a firewall is blocking something.
If there is a firewall does it have any STUN or TURN functionality?

Having a public IP as a SIP or HFA (less risk for HFA) registration IP address is generally not a good idea as it leaves you open to Toll Fraud....
...

Thanks for your valuable suggestions
There is no audio at all on HFA.
We have tried the the server behind the router/firewall but the network between sites was not work and dial between sites was not possible.
From One site to another sites ip range accessibility is possible if we use VPN network between sites.
For VPN network is it possible to use WAN link of OpenScape as VPN server or do we need to use Router/Firwall to establish the VPN network?
Which port does HFA use to for voice communication?
We also experience Tool Fraud on SIP server with public IP .

Thank You.

I've been trying to solve a similar problem with my openscape desktop from home over a VPN. I had it working previously over a different VPN, but now the client comes up and logs into the phone like it should, and I can dial the telephone number and see the call happen on the "display" but there is no audio path. I am not an expert on Wireshark, but from what I can see it says "no bearer channel available". My firewall on my PC is wide open, antivirus is temporarily suspeneded, my home router has the firewall open (I have firewalls on individual devices - it's easier) and all of the necesary ports are not being blocked. The same setup works fine on the local network at the office. I am running out of ideas about where to look! If it's a network problem I haven't found it yet.
