Hey there,

I am a manager at a restaurant and we are having an issue with theft. Employees have found a terminated managers card number and they using it to perform voids and 100% employee discounts. I need to be able to provide proof of this as the manager was never terminated in Micros. Does anyone know how to run a report that shows WHO discounted the item on the check? If my manager who no longer works here performed a discount then I should be able to move forward as all the current managers use swipe cards. Any help would be grateful.

if they use old mgrs number, show them you can disc. then remove number and try again.

Focus on checks that were paid in cash, harder to steal from a credit card. Also look at split checks and combined checks. If the servers and bartenders can do both it makes it easier to move items from check to check and keep the cash.
Don't just fire, bring in the police. You don't have to say what you found but if everyone knows someone was arrested for stealing it will put an end to it.
Don't be afraid to run the report and present it to a server and ask them to explain it, best with detectives with you. Be careful what you say as you don't want to accuse someone or do something libel but we've found most servers will admit it when you present it to them.
