Hey guys ,
Just configured H323 lines to and from my head office to 4 branch offices and assingned shart codes for each H323 line
[ul]
[li]So i am able to make interbranch calls to and from the head office to 2 branches ,i.e,(branch 1 and branch 2) and vice versa[/li]
[li]From branch 3 i am able to call the head office but not vice versa[/li]
[li]Not able to make calls to and from the head office to branch 4[/li]
[/ul]

The Ip routes are set to default setting
Ip : 0.0.0.0
subnet mask : 0.0.0.0
gateway : the IP address of the source control unit.

can anyone suggest on how to reslove the issues for branch 3 and branch 4

>gateway : the IP address of the source control unit.

wrong - needs to be the IP address of your gateway router

Take Care

Matt
I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Ohh srry.....gateway Ip address of the router

Yes, turn off direct media path on the trunks, or create a meshed VPN connection.

Well i have uncheck the "Allow direct media path" feature for the two lines. The system will be restarted when free
However the two working lines have "Allow direct Media path" feature checked and they work fine.

With regards to the VPN, The VPN is already established between the sites and the control units can ping each other.
FYI for the VPN we are using Juniper routers.

Unchecked the " Allow direct media path" feature but the issue still persists.
Calls from branch 3 to head office are ok but not vice versa.

being new to avaya , could you please let me know how to make sure that the h323 trunks are off?

the transforms are in your router/firewall mostly Cisco and manufacturers that have their own voice protocols.

Now to the other stuff with "direct Media Path" the reason for that not working is sometimes that the routers and the setup of the network is not allowing direct connections from the phones (IP phones that is) to phones on a different network and so there is no connection possible for the RTP stream (voice packages).
That means then that the call starts and the voice is not going through because the IP connectivity is no longer there.
Look at the setup of the network and ensure that the phones have the proper gateway assigned to being able to reach the other network and that the routers are setup to allow the connections.
Whenever there is a "no voice" or "no cennection" issue it is a network problem, there was never anything else that I encountered but the fact that the networks setup was wanky.

Thanks Guys ..... the issue seemed to be the firewall....with policies in place the calls from the head office to other braches are all fine now......
@Westi : thanks a lot guess my network setup was wanky :)

you can always tell if someone has english as second language.
Sooner or later there will be a slip of the keyboard. Like a famous writer once wrote "wonky or wanky, that is the question"

Guys i am having difficulty in configuring the h323 lines for making calls between the sites.
The H323 lines from headoffice to other sites and vice versa are working fine.

But there is an issue with the branch conenctivity...the branches cannot establish calls between themseleves
When dialing from branch1 to any other branch the IP phone shows "Unobtainable" . And it shows the same for all other branches as well.

The control units at each branch are able to ping each other fine.

But is there a meshed SCN between then and when you open Monitor and look at the SCN status does it show them all up and working?

How are your line group IDs set up? are calls routed correctly?
