Hey fellow tek tipsters
I have an existing Avaya IPO Version 10.1.4 (just upgraded) and adding a new V2 DS16 module. The module will not enable, the green light stays flashing. I checked the SSA and it initially showed the module but now it doesn't. I tried numerous reboots with no success. I even reinstalled the AVDCPB2.bin file. I am in the process of ordering a replacement unit but was wondering if any of you have some thoughts. Thanks

FYI
I am going to try expansion port 2 but want to wait until I have a replacement so as not to inconvenience the customer too many times. The module was powered up for 1 minute before the IPO on the initial attempt. Even though the system saw the DS16 any sets connected would just continually reboot without attempting a firmware download.

It will not download the firmware automatically, if you choose upgrade it should give you the option to upgrade the expansion module.

I think I tried that when I went into upgrade the second time. I reinstalled the avdcpb2 bin file. Same thing?

I think I might have just gotten my answer. Apparently if the module is powered up without the right bin file, it basically renders the module useless. The original software was 10.0.4 which doesn't have the new bin file. We upgraded after the fact. Let you know when I get the replacement.
Thanks

Go into embedded file management and select upload system files. Sometimes all files aren’t uploaded the first time. I’ve had that problem with a few updates and now I just upload twice every time.

I ran into something similar to this recently where I had 6 EXP units and the first one would not sync up to the IPO. It ended up being a bad expansion port on the IP500. When I plugged this expansion unit into any other exp-port on the IPO it would work.

Might not be your issue, but it was a headache on my side.
