We are getting a ton of BUG4046. We have had the CO turn off caller name Display and still get them. The following HEX info is all I get and I am having trouble telling where they are coming from. Is anyone out there able to vonvert this to a DCH or Trunk TN?

Cheers!!

OK but that's the TN
Suggest RCAP 'ND2' on your Dchannel is not set for Names from your CO ? Maybe you can ask them to turn this off to see if the BUG goes

Cheers!!

I have no loop 52 and I do have ND2 on all DCH and it is off from the PSTN. CS1000E 5 cabinets loops 0 4 8 and 20-26 are TMDI cards. If I knew which Dchannel was sending the BUG I could fix this thing.
This is a little crazy. I look at dCH messages and I am getting from time to time invalis IE messages from CO. Doesn't however seem to be at the same time we get the BUG4046.

This BUG is printed because this node received a FACILITY message on a dch, asking us to perform TAT. But at our node TAT is not configured as an RCAP, therefore we print the bug4046. remove tat from far end dch rcap.

NB: TAT requires an MSDL-based DCH for the feature to work. The NTAK79 PRI card on small systems will not support TAT.

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Check Patches are upto date and maybe look at your MSDL and do a ForceDownLoad during OOH/Maintenance window ?

You'll need to DIS all the Dchannels connected on that in LD 96 and FDL the MSDL in LD 48, renable MSDL and DCHannels...See if that helps ?

LD 96
MAP DCH (Will give you a pointer)

Cheers!!

Yeah, the first two cabinets are 0 0 and 0 1. Can't figure out why we used it because you can't have a TN 0 0 0 0, but loop 0 exists in all the switches in our network. This one is an HA and the first 2 slots are used for CS & SS in both 0 0 and 0 1, so we couldn't use the TN anyway.

I can't change the far end because we don't own the equipment, but we are working with the CO and interactive Intellagence. TAT isn't the issue with interactive Intellagence because they are one way PRI's and I don't think TAT will work on the PSTN either. The switch on the other end needs to be compatible for trunk anti tromboning to work, right?

It is working, but we have times when it is pounding these bug codes so hard and fast that it is difficult to get anything done in the switch.

We have done an ENL DCH X FDL on the DCH's. No help.

Is there no way to make heads or tails of the HEX info in the BUG4046? I have been working on Nortel gear since the early 80's and have been to many classes including maint. and these codes seem like greek to me.

i dont think that hex is going to be helpful to anyone but etas/design. i think you're right about 000 loop, exist by default but not used.
