when i try to start up system it says no operating system found.can any one please give me some help so i can get back on my computer and off of this slow one.

Can you please elaborate the problem.
Generally if we get the message like
"no Operating System found"
then it indicates ,there is some problem with your hard disk. The reason my be the failure to read from the Hard disk. So one suggestion is to check with your hard disk.
Let me know your system configuration like HP 10.x or 11.x ,its model etc
After knowing these details, many people will respond you with their answers.So do this as soon as possible.
