Here's a head-scratcher...CICS w/CID...???

I recently installed a new CICS (7.0?) with a re-furb CID card (the early type card that sticks out from the case).

I programmed all the settings in the system for CID...no workie.

I called the carrier and they insisted CID was activiated on the lines.

Using a 66 block adapter on L-1 (P201), I plugged in a common variety CID box as you would use at home. With the box plugged in-line, the CID starts working on the phone system. Remove the box and the CID stops working on the system.

Has anyone seen this before and can you please explain what's happening? This is nuts!

No...Feat 811 (812?) won't bring up CallInfo.
 
Try changing the polarity on the line. That has fixed this problem for me regarding visual message waiting info in the past. CID uses the same technology. Maybe it will work. It could be that the external box you connected was messing with the transmission of the CID burst just enough for the CICS to recognize.

Yes...after I left the site last night I started thinking about polarity. That has fixed problems for me in the past (mainly voicemail not answering). I'll give it a go.
