That's a good example of how to use the ActiveX Calendar Control. And there's others out there. But what if I want a calendar date to say be a different color to signify something - for a company I did work for, they wanted a "downday" of the plant to be in red. Also, let's say I want some text to appear in a calendar's date like vacation. And I want to use the same calendar for 12 different departments and they only see their events? Etc.
And then you transport it to a different machine that has a different version of the ActiveX Calendar Control. You now have to redo it.

I have an "events" calendar that does all of that. And it was created without the ActiveX control.

Don't get too excited when you discover something. There's always situations where it won't work.

Hi Neil

You are correct that the above example doesn't do everything however, it would have been nice if you had given the code to accomplish this without the ActiveX so that others could have learn another way of working with the calender.

Unfortunately, the code for the calendar, explaination, example is too large for this space.

THIS DEFINITELY GETS A STAR!!!!

I implemented this calendar at work today and it is FABULOUS!!!!!!

Thanks so very much,

Thats a good Calendar control. However I use this api wrapper class to pull up the built in calendar control. Here's a link to the authors site where he has the class downloadable and demo for both Access 97 and 2000 +.

If your like me and want the properties page hidden you can easiliy add a .ShowProperties Property to the class to hide the menu. You can then manually set the calendar setting through directly accessing the class properties.

Hope this helps someone as much as it helped me.

Aye, we have been using this idea for a while. As an added bonus, we have found many clients like having the calendar pop up over the top of the drop-down control, so that they must select a date or select none to move on. This just helped them to keep focus on what to do next when they were running through forms quickly.
