Helps - illustrator 8 shutsdown by itself - error 2

Hi All,

Help!!!

Illustrator 8 shutsdown by itself every 10 minutes at the moment.

Short of saving things every couple minutes is there anything I can do???

Have already re-installed over the top of original install same problem occurs though.

2 to 3 times amount of recommended memory already allocated to illustrator 8.

any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!!

You may need to reinstall your OS if a clean install of the app doesnt work. You on a Mac? Try zapping your P-ram (ctrl+option+shift+p if I remember correctly) BEHOLD! As Steve Jobs introduces us the latest in desk-lamp technology!

Or remove the preference file for Illustrator. It is in the system folder. After you trashed it, restart your computer and try again.

Also try turning off virtual memory......I had a similar problem in Illustrator 9 and that did the trick.

...there may also be corrupted fonts! Fonts can play HAVAC with apps especially if the fonts are older... Let freedom ring!
