Hello

I recently installed developer 6i on windows 2000.Then I installed oracle enterprise edition 816 edition. There was a problem on Net 8 but database was generated successfully.
When I checked services it says starting but not started and I can not log on as SYSDBA

Can anybody help me

Thanks

JUst a guess but could it be that you do not have enough memory on your computer for it to operate? Our server has 1 gig which was the MINIMUM recommended for our setup. I barely worked before (swapping, etc) on 384 meg.

NO I HAVE A MEMORY OF 30GB. I UNINSTALLED THE ENTERPRISE EDITION AND TRIED TO INSTALL AGAIN . THE FOLLOWING ERROR MESSAGE COMES

ERROR IN WRITING TO THE FILE

C:\\BIN\ORACLECORE.DLL SHALL I IGNORE AND CONTINUE OR HOW TO REMOVE THIS ERROR

CAN ANYBODY HELP

I would say that something in your registry didn't get updated correctly (or it's a typo) since it is trying to write to:

C:\\BIN

Looks like it doesn't know the path to Oracle_Home. Terry M. Hoey
