pls pls help, i have to do something and i don`t know how. the thing is the boss showed me, but i didn`t catch it.
there`s a letter, with curves and stuff, and he actually cut a part of it. i don`t know how. he just clicked on the square tool and cut a part of the letter. all i can do is cut parts of the curves, iregular shapes, not ... how it`s supposed to be done. what am i missing? why can`t i select the square tool and cut everything that`s inside the square ? please help

A little more detail, and a little less panic....

When you say a letter - do you mean a paragraph with words, or do you mean a single character letter?

Secondly, what is it you are trying to do? I understand you want to cut a portion of the letter (or the whole thing, its not clear) but what do you want to do with it?

Third, when you say it has curves, do you mean the paragraph text flows around curved shapes? Or the single letter has curved nodes?

Fourth, have you tried asking your boss to show you again a bit more slowly, with instructions?

ok, starting with last, because i don`t want to put more shame on myself :p
now, the letter is a drawing, with curves and stuff, it`s not a TEXT letter, it`s something drawed in the past. the letter is part of the company logo. now i have to build a new letter using the same curves and round parts. so, what my boss did was actually select with a square what part of the letter he wanted cut, and the cut it. how, i don`t know yet. the letter is not grouped or anything ... how can i cut a part of that drawing ?

ok, my guess would be that the letter is converted to curves, as it was probably a text letter at one point. That being said, everything should just be a series of nodes. My guess is this is just an outline of the letter, and not filled (but I could be wrong). He probably just selected the nodes he wanted by dragging the arrow tool around them, then cut them, and pasted where he needed them. Since you said nothing is grouped, that is most likely the easiest way to accomplish what you are looking to do. POst back if this is not correct

How do you fit several words, stacked, above each other, to a path? For instance, PARALLEL PARKING, with PARALLEL placed above PARKING. I know how to fit words on single line to a path.

Bapsht,

There doesnt seem to be an easy way. I would make a single path, Duplicate it (CTRL+D) then fit each word to each path. THen just position them one above the other.
