I made an install msi using the Visual Studio Installer 1.1 for my vb app. The installation goes fine on any of my win2kPro machines. When I went to my customers machines which are all Win98 machines. First let me say I installed the proper MDAC and the ODBC connection is fine to SQL Server. I have this error occur when I install the msi on any of their 98 machines. I can't remember the exact discription but its something about can't register MSADO25.TLB so when you run the app you get an error about the reference to all the ADO tables is incorrect or something along that order. Sorry I can't remember the exact message.

Thanks for any and all help I need it badly. Need to get this app running on their Win98 machines.

Does MSI have it set to Self Register? If so, change it to be TLBRegister. This is a known issue but, since I do not have MSI in front of me I don't know how to tell you to check in MSI.

Thanks for the help teh215,

When I locate MSADO25.TLB in the files in Visual Studio Installer I don't get the option to register as TLBRegister

The only options for MSADO25.TLB registering are
vsifrNone
vsifrSelfReg
vsifrFont

You are right it was set to SelfReg but there is no item in the register pulldown that I can set to TLBRegister.

Any suggestions ? I really need to get this solved asap if possible.

Thanks
