I've been using Approach since version 2.5 back in around 1994. I just developed this killer app for a client using 9.7. I figured that I'd upgrade them to 9.8 which I did. I got the OEM version. Well because we're using HP Laserjet printers, I have the cursed moving margins problem that many have described. I've tried everything from different drivers to moving margins and nothing is a solid fix. I understand that they have fixed this "BUG" in Fix Pack 2 which is only available if you have some sort of software agreement with IBM. I don't. I had to move the client back to 9.7 but I've noticed a speed issue and it's running a little sluggish. Does anyone out there have a copy of Fix Pack 2 that I could either have or pay for?????

Thanks
Bill

Never mind !!! Spent my $300 with IBM for the product and the fix packs.....

Was the upgrade worth it?
DOES IT FIX THE PROBLEMS with 9.8 that LOTUS SHOULD GIVE to USERS FOR FREE!!!

Why doen't the government start regulating the software industry????

9.8 is FULL of bugs FULL

CALC PROBLEMS GALORE!!!!

before I SPEND ANYMORE money on APPROACH I will purchas Alpha Five - it is MORE Powerfull & LESS BUGGY, ALOT LESS. & has a runtime option....

FYI, Lotus considers the 9.8, 9.8.1, 9.8.2 and 9.8.3 as separate "releases" of the SmartSuite. They are free to people who either buy 9.8 from Lotus/IBM or have a support contract. If you get the support contract, you can renew it annually for about $75, so it is not all that expensive.

Actually all of the 9.8 releases were pretty good except the last one (9.8.3). They messed up the Find process trying to fix some problems I reported to them. Fortunately they have a fix available for those problems now.
