Hi I don't know code and have no wish to delve into that scary world at present.
I have a linked table database(one core, one manipulator). I have one (of many) Form where I wish certain users to have read write access to but the rest not to write/edit. The editable parts of the form I know it's the preventing the user editing it individually via the form that I want to solve. I hear the Access suggessted way is not recommended i.e. Users/admin etc. Can I control this via the server somehow i.e. make a ReadOnly copy?
Can anyone help please?

Austen,

you did not clarify which Access version you are using.

You need to set user level security in the backend (A2003 and older), or to split the backend (all versions) over different folders on your server.

For Access-2003 start looking in
For Access-2007 start in . Check out the small section on "windows folder level security".

Thanks.
Although, I have been told to keep the back end data together and not split it off into two. I had it in two before and in that respect it was easy, i.e. ReadOnly copy and set user access of the back end. It seems like I have to play with the user permissions as you suggested. I was hoping there was an easier way.

(Btw Access 2003)

Thanks.
