This thing is such a pain to program and all I want is to be able to change the greeting and let callers dial an Ext.

I've read the manual and its really bad on showing how to do just the simple things.

Can someone tell me what setting I need to change? I've read change prompt 819 for the company greeting then I read just disable it and use the custom service.

Right now for day time a caller calls and a custom greeting is there but just allows the caller to leave a message. I cannot find where this greeting is recorded and enable the dialing Ext. feature.

During night mode no phones will ring but dialing an Ext. is enabled.

Still have not found where the old greeting is.

Is the following the correct steps to record a custom greeting for the custom service?

165
#6
*998
5 Modify message
4 Custom Service
1 Custom service prompt 1

Which prompt number has the main greeting or is the main greeting someplace else?

Ports are set for AA

AA should be setup for which service prompt, system, user 1,?

you are in the right section however you can have up to 100 custom messages any one of which can be the one that is answering so where you typed
1 Custom service prompt 1
have a look at the section which says which custom message is answering but if you cant find it post back and i will post a walk through

I cannot find which custom message it is using and no matter what I change it still keeps the same old greeting even with the system prompts and only lets the caller leave a message with no option to dial an Ext. or operator so I think something strange is going on.

So I got a custom prompt 1 that is recorded what needs to be be check so it is used for all incoming calls and set it up so callers can dial an Ext?

This thing has way too many prompt settings so I'm not even sure whats going on. I get bits a pieces here which is the problem I think. I need a check list to bring it back to the defaut settings that uses the correct prompt greeting that works. When calling in you get prompts that do not work at all.

Hey mcnmpc,
I just got through setting one of these up. Now that you have a custom greeting recorded you need to set up the port. This is found in the Program menu of the TVS50 through HyperTerm. At top menu Select 1 for program and 3 for port settings. Select 1 for port settings and then select port 1 wich should be ext. 165. After that it will ask you for day/night/lunch/break. Select 1 for day. Then you will be ask what incoming service you want. Type 4 for custom. Then enter your custom service number that you recorded. Then you will be asked which prompts you would like to use. I use user1 but you can use system as well. That should be it for setting up your port. If it still does not work then you will need to do some system programming. But the above procedure has to be completed. Hope that helps.

Found out what was going on. The company here had a Verizon Voice Mail setup so the TVS50 wasn't even picking up the calls.

Now everythig makes sense. One of those things that makes you want to do something silly.

Dang!! Thats got to be enough to drive you to insanity.

I have a Panasonic KX-TVS550 VPS. How do I cancel the canned prompt "Welcome to the voice processing system"? This occurs just before the initial main OGM.

shut the prompt off or record over it .what I do is
welcome....... becomes you have reached xxxxx.......

I also have the client rerecord good morning good after noon
and good evening

How do I actually get to the prompt for "Welcome to the voice processing system"? I can find the ones for "good Morning, etc., (#248, 249,250) but not this one. Some said it is number 819, but my system said that is an invalid prompt number.
