When booting my terminal I get an error "Exiting - File Data Error. Check Debout For Terminal."; the following is part of the debout with the error. It will boot into standalone mode just fine. I have already reinstalled deleted and reinstalled with terminstall. I have just noticed that the date it is processing is 5 days ago.

I failed to point out that I just upgraded from 6.4.20 to 6.5.46

Are you running out of drive space?
Try copying the data and bin folder in windows to the terminal.

Cheers,
Coorsman

Coorsman,

I am low on space; have 150MB left; it has always been pretty low.
I have already tried deleting the BIN and DATA from terminal and copying over BIN and DATA from BOH.

Zach

There is a Sync Ini file you can create to not copy certain files from the boh to the terminals based on what programs you rub and don't rub on the foh. I'll send the details tomorrow morning when I get logged into my base.

Cheers,
Coorsman

Coorsman,

I am working with the info you have given me; I've put a few hours in trying to find a combination that works with no success. I thought I would add that it "crashes" at Time and Attendance. Any further suggestions?

Failed to read data, error 1140"

1140 is a .dbf file. If the terminal works fine in standalone mode, then the problem is that the terminal is attempting to read one of the .dbf files in the DATA or dated sub folders on the server and it is most likely corrupt, read only, incompatible or in use. In standalone mode the terminal reads the DATA folder on the terminal itself, when it's not in standalone mode it attempts to read the files from the DATA folder on the server. "Time and Attendance" is the GndTime.dbf file, but just because that is the last thing you see before it crashes does not necessarily mean it is that file. Move the following files out of the DATA folder on the server to a temporary folder and then load Aloha on the FOH to see if it makes a difference. If that doesn't work maybe the FOH also reads the files from the dated sub folder for Time and Attendance too, so move these same files temporarily out of the Aloha\20130623 folder as well.

If that didn't work maybe try deleting everything in the DATA folder except the "OK" file and then copy everything from NEWDATA into DATA. Another suggestion would be to run DBconfig in the Aloha\BIN folder and change the input/output folder from NEWDATA to DATA to rebuild the files.

bigblok good info; I removed all folders from previous sales dates. It allowed me to move further more problems now. Booo!

Turns out that even though the drive was shared (I even deleted and re-applied the share) the sub-folders were not shared. So frustrating. Everything is back to working. Thank you to all for the help.
