help with site from vs. 6 to 8

ok, i am finally doing a site for my family split between India and the Americas.

now, i have a 'fla' which i downloaded from macromedia a year back and started to fiddle with...i am trying to adapt my family video album to this... i will let whomever wishes look at my problems:

1. the volvox image (it was the first site i was using with this style) works on the thumb rollover because it was done in flash 6. as you notice the video from a flash 8 work does not thumb rollover.

2. relatedly adn important: IF YOU CHANGE THE PUBLISH IN FLASH 8 it will DISPLACE the thumb mark in "first frame exporter" why is this? how to fix?

3. what do you suggest the best way to do what I want to do here? any and all suggestions are appreciated. I learned how to use flash here and am still learning.

two other things i have noticed using the flash 8 flv's:

1. when i click on one movie and then the other, the buttons do not automatically stop whatever flv is playing. how to do this?

2. if i click another link and just see one and hear both films and click back to the first left button, it will not replay, reload. why? how to fix?

please help if you can.
