Hi, I've got 230 employees in my exchange server in the active directory. I already created the feature where it will automatically assign the @companyname.com. However, is there a way where I can select all the employees in one shot and create their email addresses without having to do it in the exchange tasks, create mailbox, etc...? It's bad enough I have to setup Outlook 2002 manually on their machines. Any help will be greatly appreciateed.

Cant you simply multilple select all the users, then exchange tasks, create mailbox?, to then use the default recipient policy?

No, can't do that.

Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way, all at once, to give existing users mailboxes. Of course, new users will get mailboxes during setup, but if they're already in the AD, then I think you're stuck doing them one at a time.

Well thank you very much. You've saved me a lot of time. Now the second tasks is to setup outlook on all these PC's. Thanks again.

Have you tried selecting multiple users lander?
Thats how we dour ours..
Thats the easy part, i havent found a way round either for manually setting up outlook for each user.

Well I'll be darned, davetherave is right, you can select multiple users and add a mailbox! I was so used to losing that ability from NT4 as far as user information that I never checked if it would work with Exchange Tasks, but it does!

Well, that'll save a lot of time for someone adding an Exchange server!

Something also i find usefull is to use the NT4 user manager to access AD users.
It will let you multiple select users, or by groups, and change details like login script, profile paths..if they all need the same details.
also to reset a group of users passwords to a default.
Dont think that can be done from AD users and computers.

Lander,

I assume your AD-mailboxes have all been created by now.

About the Outlook roll-out :

* you can use AD Group Policies to deploy a Microsoft MSI-package to PC's or users; as Office or any component has MSI-packages existing on the Office-CD, this could be a solution.

* Search the MS Knowledge Base for "OUtlook.prf" which is a config-file that allows you to automate the process of creating OUtlook profiles on each machine.
In this config file, have the properties set to your exchange server, and the "%username%" property for each user. Detailed explanations on how to use the properties of this file are in the file itself well documented.

I hope this helps,

Peter
