I am doing a catalogue designed in straight HTML & JAVA for the shopping cart. The site is split into a left and right frame. The left frame is a FLASH movie that acts as a menu for the 4 catagories of the catalogue.

OK..now that you have an idea of what I am doing. The CDROM will be running on a computer without Internet access...so my FLASH movie is lacking the correct "Tell Target" path to my left frame. Basically I can't get the FLASH movie to load the appropriate page in the left frame. I can do a "Tell Target" but I have never used FLASH as a menu other than in FLASH movies. So my first question is how do I make the right frame FLASH menu load the correct HTML pages in the left frame?

My second problem is the No Internet part. I am not sure what path to specify in a "Get URL" command. The entire catalogue will be on a CDROM in the end so I am assuming I would have to specify in the FLASH movie to read the correct HTML files from the CDROM. I am unclear on how to do that as well. If anyone can help me with these minor problems I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Is your whole catalog going to be in a stand alone player or in an offline browser window?
This changes everything.

As soon as you post I will answer.

Greets...

The whole thing is going to be in an offline browser. Internet 4.5 I think. I have an additional question now. Does anyone know of a really good, totally customizable shopping cart program? I am tired of writing my own scripts. hehehe....thanks again.

Is there no Internet involved at all? I believe you want to look at something like the core of what swift-tools does ( Try asking that dude for some code to assist you. I wish I could could give you more info but I'm just starting out doing this ballsy stuff with Flash.

peace

nope...no Internet. It is for Pilot & Arby's. Sort of an offline equipment catalogue. I finally got everything to work with a "Tell Target" command to a set of predefined HTML frames named left_frame & right_frame. That was the easy part. The hard part was integrating the FLASH menu to point to that target right_frame. It works now though. Still haven't found that shopping cart program that is both powerful and totally customizable. If anyone know...shoot me an email or reply. Thanks

Hey
I have the same problem, but I didn't understand your answer. I have three frames. Top, left and Main. I have a SWF in my left frame, and when clicked it needs to open an url in the MAIN frame, but I can not make it work. I've tried with mainframe, top, new, blank, etc in the window area of the Get URL command. What Am I doing wrong??
PLEASE HELP!!!!!! [sig][/sig]
