Before I start I want to say I know nothing about Avaya products. I am Nortel guy, so be please be Patient.

I am able to get into programming no problem. What I am trying to do is set the number of rings before the Phone fowards to the users voicemail.

I know this should be an easy one.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

you need to know the phone system type, push Feature 59 on a display phone and it should show you Partner ACS RX.X.X
then it is the following way.
Press Feature 0 0
left intercom twice (display shows system programming)
#321
ext number via keypad
shows the number of rings (default 3)
enter new number via keypad
Feature 0 0 to get out of programming

if feature 59 doesn't work you can still try but it could also be #117 (I think that is it has been a while)

no problem

I should maybe specify the #117 is in substitution of the #321 not to use instead of Feature 59. I read through it again and it didn't look right so this hopefully makes it more clear.

One more thing, does this need to be done from ext.10 or 11 or from the ext. I want to foward?

#321 worked, I was able to set the rings. But when I call the phone It still rings and does not go to voicemail.

Is ther a voicmail pilot number that needs to be entered?

you need to assign voicemail coverage in #310 for that extension so that the phone system sends the calls to the voicemail

Thanks I will try it. Again does it have to be from the phone I want to Forward?

no you need to do all system programming from extension 10 or 11
you could setup a voicemail cover button on that extension if you don't have access to 10 or 11 and turn it on that way.

that would be programmed by pressing
Feature 0 0
push a button with a light beside it (not a line button and not intercom)
press Feature 15
Feature 0 0 again

then you can press that button and it will light up and the VMS cover is on
