Have a customer with a BCM50 release 2 and someone had changed the nnadmin password and forgot what it was. I always set up a backdoor password of my own with full admin rights, so when I log in I can change the nnadmin password but it does not actually work. When I change it and it asks to enter again and then I log out. When I try to log back in under nnadmin
the new password does not work. Has anyone experienced this?

I might be able to offer some help to you. It would be easier if we know the systems site ID. Please refer to the link below for more information.

Have you rebooted?
Try creating another account and see what happens.

I have rebooted and still doesn't work, I can create a new account and it works fine. I can also delete accounts but for some reason the changes to the nnadmin account to not take effect.

Make sure the box at the end is not showing as the account being 'disabled' or locked out?
Did you try changing it to the default password?D it locked out?

Maybe its corrupted.

I have seen this problem before on a BCM 400 system. The only way to fix this is to do a factory restore on the security settings only!.

Go into the BCM via Element Manager and under "Administration", select the "Backup and Restore" and then "Restore". Select Restore from "Factory Default". Click OK and Untick everything, but leave security ticked.

This will remove all accounts and reset the nadmin account back to default. Create a new account and change the password to see if it has worked.
