Hello, I have a navigation bar which I use at the top of every page in my site (around 300 pages).

My problem is that I need a title to appear on each nav bar which is unique to the page.

Rather than create 300 Flash files, which would need to updated for each page if there was ever a change, is it possible for Flash to recognise something within each page and display a different title accordingly?

Thanks guys,

Steve.

Guess if it was only a sort of dynamic title text line, you could set that text variable in each html and pass it on (maybe not directly but through the use of Flash methods) to a generic Flash file.
It it was more sophisticated than just a title, such as changing other elements and/or pictures for example, guess you would have to use Generator (mega $$$$) or one of it's free equivalent, to dynamicly update the content of the Flash file, at runtime.

Thanks for that.

It is only one line of text that I need to display in the Flash movie (no pics, etc.).

What's the best way to go about this?

Thanks again,

Steve.

How familiar are you with javascript?
Do you have a link to one of these pages with this setup, as an example?
Can you make the .fla of this bannerlike movie available?

Although I may come up with a simple example soon, I don't have much time in the next few days to test this out... So if you want to start on your own, here's my line of thought...

A generic dynamic textfield in the movie, simple enough...

Then set that variable textfield in each html through javascript and Flash methods with something like the SetVariable method.

Check these links for info on Flash methods, it's pretty much straightfoward:

The first link should be sufficent, if you can't work it out yourself, I may try to help you out, but as I said, I should be getting back to my day job!

Thanks, I should be able to do it now from the links you gave.

Thanks again,

Steve.
