Hi, just got a leased line, all set up fine.. can browse the internet etc. Just want to know how to go about setting up port forwarding?

from what i can gather you use the command
ip nat inside source static tcp <ip of terminal to forward to> <port> interface serial0?? <port>

Is this correct? It's a 1700 series router, using both serial0 and serial0.6 :-/ Have never worked with leased lines before, it can't be that different can it?

is there anything i need to do before hand to enable port forwarding? :-/ It's a new router.

Port forwarding from inside to outside your network or the other way around?

outside to inside.. i.e

so, for example, if i vnc (port 5900) onto wan address x.x.x.x it'll forward to a pc (y.y.y.y) (running vnc server)on the same lan as the router.

would the command used be...

ip nat inside source static tcp y.y.y.y 5900 interface serial0.16 5900

???

That will translate anything with a S.A. of y.y.y.y to ip address of s0.16 on the inside int.

And also anything with a D.A of s.016 to D.A of y.y.y.y on the outside int.

So yeah it seems ok
