I have an M7410 set that keeps displaying "invalid handset". Is there any way to register the handset with the base??? I have another M7410 set that will not charge the batteries. Otherwise it works fine, any suggestions on this would be appreciated.

Have you tried getting into handset programming, and pressing feature * * * M7410
that should get you into some programming options. its been a while since i've had a 7410 to play with...
I'll look for a manual on it, if i can find it i'll look that up... but try the *** function first...

On the one that won't charge the batteries, is the AC adapter making a good connection on the back of the phone?
I've had them pop loose and quit charging.

Can you access the Options Lists by pressing the Mobility button on the handset? I think Canadianwolf is on the right track with the F ***M7410. That works on my set, but I don't have the literature for it.

OK.

Thanks for the input to everyone who responded.

The one that wont charge the batteries:
there is good contact from the A/C supply. Connector is good, and the power supply itself has been boh tested and monitored to ensure continuous voltage (and correct) voltage is supplied. When the vlotage is monitored at the battery (or charging) contacts it only reads at approximately 4.5 volts. Not enough to chrage the batteries. The voltage is being eaten up somewhere inside the phone. There are no visibly damaged components on the boards inside the phone.

The one with invalid handset:

The base keeps saying "invalid handset". The handset just keeps "scanning". I can not access any handset programming through the mobility button on the sude of the handset. I have not tried *** on the handset yet, but I will give it a shot and post an appropriate reply. (The battery is dead tight now and needs to be recharged).

Did you ever resolve this?
I have the same problem, phone just scans. Forgot to try the ***.

I have experienced the same problem with "invalid handset" Try putting the handset in the cradle and removing the battery from the back of the handset then replace it. If that does nor work. Try removing try the AC power while the handset is in the cradle and repower up.

I have resolved the "invlaid handset" issue. Thanks to mrstein77 for your reply. I already figured that out previously, but that was teh solution. It took a few tries, but the handset did eventually mate to the base.

I am now having a different issue. The handset keeps losing signal and going into "scanning" mode. This is happening VERY frequently. I am using this phone in a house so we are not talking about large distances here. Any ideas???

Does anyone know of a manual for these hones on line ??

Other than that I understand that they are pretty puny phones but they are working. I am in a banaquet hall and they pickup pretty well. Anyone know how the companion system worked should I need to expand out a bit on alow budget?

companion has been manufacturer discontinued...if you have it you can expand but no new companions are being sold

Try the 7406, you can mount the base/antenea anywhere as it and the charger are separated.
You can get used companion however very expensive.

pls remember that you need to upgrade your software to XC if it already is not
