Can you get a logon script to connect to a Citrix Farm, without specifying the server name it needs to connect to?

It there a generic command Line for this?

YOu can use the wfclient command to do some stuff, what are your trying to achieve ?

Reason for this is we have a farm of 8 Citrix Servers... Not using Published Apps here, Standard Image.

A group of 5 users using an application would like to be able to access data on a shared area in whatever server they are load balanced on to. IE D$ on.... without been server specific... Question is can this be done via a logon script or do they need to create specific Folders on each server... Unblocking that drive so it’s available to them

And why would this data not be on a separate file and print server ?

Ricki,

Scott is right - just put the data on a File server somewhere and then in the logon script check for group membership (ifmember) and map a drive for members of that group.

Hope that helps,

PS; citrix boxes aren't a good place to store data as a matter of practice as it tends to hurt the overall system performance.

I agree with MikeBatters, also you sould look into a scripting tool such as KIX or scriptlogic. We use KIX at our site and have 35 citrix servers and 14 file/app servers. We set up the users in usermanager with specific home folders then map their drives depending on what group they belong to. Its not hard you just have to be logical in how you set your groups up.

Hope this helps

Yes there is loadds you can do with KIX, I use it all the time too.

So if you get it there are at least two here with experience to help you achieve what you want to do .

Put what you want to do, where everything is located, what the servers are called and I'll have a go at scripting it for you.

Need more info!

Carl.
