I am trying to tie an 8300/g700 with MM710 to an old siemens switch. They are treating it as an OPX and I have to terminate the call at an assigned IP extension. There is a one to one relationship between each DS1 channel and each extensionto an extension. WHat type trunk group? I can get a call to the extension if I assign Incoming destinatio to it bu tthat means one trunk group for each extension and there are 240 extensions over 10 T-1's.

Can't you just configure the DS1 board as D4 Framing Mode and then build 24 single line analog extensions and for each one of those extensions in the Port assignement use the channels from the DS1 01-24 01a0601, 02, 03 etc. Then the other switch will see those extensions as just loop start dialtone. You would dial a four digit extens to reach that end, they would go off hook and receive dialton and dial who they want to reach.

Thanks, I'll try it. Right now I'm B8ZS ESF with a FX trunk group. That works incoming but I had to build a tie trunk to call back to the Siemens. This works but is a waste of resources. Your solution, if it works, will at least save the return trunks. I'll let you know.

How about building them as Personal CO lines? I believe you said that the Siemons is providing loop-start dialtone. You assign an individual personal CO line to an extension in the Definity.

That will work too, but my real problem is resources. We are installin an 8300/700/IA770 with 5 g 700 and 10 Ds 1 cards. We will be running Avaya Ip wireless phones on this to replace the customers existing 240 Ascom phones. Any config mentioned means one trunk group per phone, the 8300 is limited to 99 trunk groups.

It wouldn't be a trunk group at all. Build the DS1 as ami/d4 robbed-bit as mentioned. Dont build a trunk group. Just build stations with a station type of DS1FD and assign a port on the DS1 board for the station.

OK I tried that as DS1FD and DS1SA. One problem, these are all IP phones. So, I tried abrdg my analog station on the Ip phone, no good, never rings. I tried call forwarding the analog station to the Ip station, no good never rings. I don't think we are recognizing the ringing coming from the Siemens switch. I don't thinkwe ever see the call on that channel from the Siemens like we do on a trunk call. He is treating these like OPX's on his side.
