Hi,

Can anyone recommend an ISDN modem for connecting to IP Office systems out in the field? I have a windows 7 laptop and I am looking for a way to use ISDN to configure my IPO's

i'm sure i had the same issue, i had it set to what i though SHOULD be right for the UK, but it gave me errors, so i changed the protocol and it started working fine.

is yours failing as soon as you try and dial a connection?

Mine is set to Euro-ISDN (DSS1). Also make sure you set your connections to use a channel on the modem not the actual modem itself :)

No need to bundle, it often fails if you do and you can run everything, even use softphone over that single channel. I normally set the system to Dial-In DHCP and allow it to assign on connection and have the customer omit the address from their range if needed. I have used a static 99 address a few times too though :)

Yes as soon as u try to dial the connection it returns an error. I have it set to Euro and one of the channels instead of the modem. What about when it asks you for MSN during set up? Should I put anything in here? I have a BRI with no DDI

cheers man, i've recently rebuilt all our isdn connections, i've made them all static to .99 because one of the guys i work with had system default on him when he made a change over isdn, now he is sketchy about using them.

Anyone else had a system bork when making changes over isdn? i never really used it that much until recently, i tended to prefer logmein to the vmpro machine, but it seems pretty damn solid to me.

fair enough, i'll check my settings tomorrow but they are probably the same as andys. if that doesnt work im out of ideas, im using an S08 and dialing over our isdn30.

Thanks, I had tech support for my reseller connect straight in over their ISDN, I think it's either the modem or just the set up now. I have two of these modems and both have exactly the same problem. So I think it must be set up. Anyone who has a dialogic diva USB on windows 7 should be able to help me with the set up. Thanks for all your help

Tom, it only ever defaults if you have a fail to send and then you retry sending, the second time it takes a partial config and bombs the system out. If it ever fails on the first send drop out, dial in make changes again and then resend. I have had a troublesome system that this happened on quite regularly but only when using a certain laptop to dial out :)

Mines set to European ISDN DSS1. All I did was plug it in, let Windows do its thing and reboot. Then went into one of my dial up connections, changed it from the old onboard card to this one and clicked dial.
