i got some hard drive from some server and pc, i just wanted to know how can i tell how many gb they have by looking at the hardware hard drives.

Are these drives hook up to your computer? Some drive have the sizes written on them.

no there not hook up to my pc there server hard drive and the pc hdd have a dif ribbon. my pc only have 40pin

Look them up by mfg & model number.

If there are pin differences and being from a server it is likely they are SCSI HD's.

Yeah, simply do a google on the make and model number, there will be many references to your particular drive and it's storage capacity.
