I have recently installed Vodavi Starplus system, something very strange is happening. After I change the voicemail options and re-record the greetings, everything works fine. But either when I restart the system (power off/on) or after some time the options change to some values I had earlier. I don’t see any pattern in the changes. It’s almost like there are several versions of the OS/Voicemail and different one gets booted into operation.
I would truly appreciate any help on this issue.
Thanks, V.

Could it possibly be a time setting in the voice mail system ,to the best of my recollection ,there is an automatic time selection that can change options for different times (ie) night mode, both in the system and VM system.

3rs, thanks a lot for your response.
The problem is very strange, I re-record the greetings both for the Day and Night operations, as well as change the Open/Close schedule (I think this is what you are referring to). Then after all that, when I restart the system, the greetings and the Open/Close schedule goes back to some older version, sometimes I don't even have to restart the system, and it goes to an older version.
It almost seems like operations in a transactions database, the latest changes are not saved to the disk, but rather are live in the system memory, and if there is a non-graceful restart, it looses them and uses the old settings.
I was wondering if there is some kind of permanent "Save Settings" command that I am not using. I program most of the settings from a connected PC and I don't see a "Save" options, just exit. Sorry for the long explanation, but I am really baffled by this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here a while back I had a Vodavi DHS that was loosing time ,and sometimes it would retain the time as much as 2-3days,Vodavi said that was not possible,I tottaly defaulted the system several times to no avail, I then spoke to Aztec their certified repair Center and they said the software had a glitch,I sent it to Aztec and they repaired it,It was a brand new systemPerhaps you can contact them and they can Help,Vodavi's Tech Support was not helpful at all,and wouldn't even recognize the problem, there is a link to Aztec Capital, for repair from the Vodavi web site. Sorry I could not be more help.

3rs, thanks for all your help.
I’ll take this info to my vendor and have them deal with the problem. I have 2 year warranty on the phone system.
If I can be of any help to you please let me know. I deal mostly with computers, networks, web clusters, etc. my email: varmkr@earthlink.net
Thanks, V.

Victor,More than likely your supplier will refer you to Vodavi, thats who Graybar refers me to, unless it is an off the shelf failure. That is the standard procedure.

Victor ,on another forum they were talking about a bug in a Vodavi Talkpath ,Is that the VM system you are working with ,there solution was new software.

I have the Flash-based Voice Mail. It’s a card inside the chassis. I have just sent an email to my vendor. I need to find a solution quickly. Can not handle the uncertainty of when the next change/reset will screw up the things. I’ll point to them the possibility of updating the software if there is newer version.
Thanks, V.

By inskin voicemail, I think you are talking about the new sts system. If so, you need to download the newest software (0050) from Vodavi's website and then go to customer site and hook up to rs232 on voicemail card and upload new software to it. Good luck. I have had to do this at 3 sites already.

ravnz5 - Thanks for the help. I have gotten my vendor to ship me a new card with the software version 0050. That seems to have fixed the problem.
