Help with Formatting and Validation Rules

I have a Field with the Data Type set to Number.

I would like the Format to be 000.0 with one Decimal Place.

Also the only entries i would like the user to make are Numbers that are greater than or equal to 000.0 and less than or equal to 540.0 or 999.9

However when i have tried to do this it does not work and also rounds my numbers up to the nearest whole number.

Can anyone help me please.

Silly question, but, your'e shure that you've selected single or double as Field Size? If its byte, integer or long integer, it only stores whole numbers.

Then choose format below.

Note, if you alredy placed the field as a control on a form, you might have to do either the same process there to, or simply add it again.

Thanks for replying Roy, i didn't have the number set to single or double, but have now.

However i still can't seem to solve the problem of saying the number must be between 0-540 or 999.9.

Any ideas?

Hi again

Validation rule, is the choice for validating data.

Put in:

Between 0 and 540 or 999.9

in the validation rule for the field and, because you probably wan't to avoid Access error messages, put some lyrics of your own in the validation text part

For the number of decimals, set the number of decimals in the Decimal places part for the field.

This should do the trick. BTW - if the field is alredy on a form, you have to either repeat the process on the form, or add it again.
