I have a 16 port digital expansion module on my IP Office system and the phones that are connected to it say "please wait" and will not work. the other phones work fine.

Check the Blue cable in the back and reboot everything. Start with the expansion mudules first. Let them come up and turn green then bring up the processor module. Make sure the blue cables are connected before you power it up.

Already tried that. i can see it when i go into office manager. it says that it is running version 4.1 and manager is running 3.2, i saw this when i was upgrading the manager in initial setup. the analog expansion says that same thing but it is working.

THose modules need to be upgraded. Go under file in manger and then advanced and then upgrade. you should see them and check them off and upgrade.

They are greyed out. it will not let me select the box to upgrade them. isn't it really a downgrade? the analog one works though without haveing to do anything

No its not a downgrade. The manager version you would be using with 3.2 is 5.2. what release of 3.2 are you using. it should be 3.2.54. A module when it comes from the distributor is running 2.1.

i upgraded the manager to 3.2 like it says to when first installing everything. the expansion says 4.1 and is greyed out, it won't let me check the box beside it.

I would go under file and Change working directory to just point to the manager folder. Change the .bins and .cfg if they are pointing somewhere else.

the .cfg says "C:\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Manager"
the .bin says "C:\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Manager\IP406v2\V3_2

Try changing the .bin to just manager and see if they come into the upgrade wiz.

that did the trick. thank you very much. wonder if you could help me with one more thing. the line appearance works but when you push the button by the lines, it does not take you to the outside line. i did it on the first system that i did but don't remember what i did, if that makes sence. do you think you could help?

When you go under the lines make sure it has a line app Id and you need to have a prefix in the line. I usually use 9 in the prefix.
