Hey People,

I have an exchange problem, that is rattling my brain and was hoping someone out there might have some ideas.

What I have running is 2003 SBS and a 2K SRV.

The present SBS was migrated 2 years ago from the original 2k box.

I am installing SBS Exchange 2003 at the moment and have installed SP2 to it also. The install went fine. Although some services will not start; MTA Stacks and Information Store. I get a 1068 error on the MS exchange Event service when I try to start it.
All other services are up and running. I might add here, I have Googled and checked up the error, but none of what I found helped me.

Here comes the weird bit.

Our old domain controller (the one our present Active Directory was migrated from) was called *******-PDC and our present is called ******-SERVER. After Exchange installed I went to Exchange -> Admin Groups -> Servers -> Only to find that it has somehow picked up on the old DC of *******-PDC and installed the first storage group and all protocols here, but when I try access I get an error saying that the info store service isn't started (which I know...).
Below is is the present DC and nothing installed to it.

What I'm wondering is, is it possible that in the migration the old Domain name has stuck and it could be causing the issues I'm having? From my hunting online I've found most people say re-install 2003 and start a-fresh.. I'm hoping to avoid that!

Any advice would be greatly appriciated!

Dave.

That last option may well be the one that saves you most time, and potentiol other issues, as it is a rather new install anyway.

Thanks for the advice Marc, realistically I have a month before I have to resort to a reinstall.. So hopefully by then I'll twig something!
