Hello all,
I am using crystal reports 10, my data sources are 1 table from Access db and several tables from sql server. Tables are linked by patient ID number. The report gives a list of patients, grouped by building name/number, then grouped by patient ID number, current account balance. When I try to generate the report I get this error message:

"More than one database driver has been used in this report. If you wish to change the database drivers use Database/Set Location. Please make sure that no sql expression is added and no server side group-by is performed.(I have two group-bys on the sql server side which is by building name/number-grp1, then patient id-grp2,both tables are on the sql server only) "

The problem seems to be the groups on the sql side...any ideas???? Is it possible to use these two different databases? Thanks in advance, any info will be greatly appreciated since I am a newbie to CR....Thanks again...

I would suggest that you do all of this within MS Access by LINKing (not importing) the SQL Server tables into the existing Access database, or create another Access database and link in the current Access database tables and the SQL Server tables, then build out a Access query as the reports data source.

To link in SQL Server tables, select New in the tables section and select Link, and then use the file type to select ODBC and point to the SQL Server database, click select all (or whatever tables you need, and make sure that you select the SAVE PASSOWRD checkbox.

As for the message, it's not an error, it's a warning as you are limited to the join types in Crystal across data sources, and it won't pass the group info to the SQL Server, it doesn't care that you have local grouping in the report.

Turn off the File->Options->Perform Grouping on Server.
