I have a huge problem and I am not sure where to go from here. I am using Crystal 8.5 on a Windows 2000 box. Everything was working dandy until they changed my profile last week and put me on another domain. I am able to export for the report writer but not from the Crystal SQL Designer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled but that did not help. I contacted technical support and they were less than helpful. They sent me some files and told me to install them and this would take care of the problem. Well it did not. So I am looking to find out if anyone else has had this problem before and if so, how did you correct it. Please let me know if you can help me.

Thanks

Can you?
Open the QRY?
Refresh it to the screen?
Run a report from it?

Ken,

Yes I can open the query, I can refresh the query, and I can run a report from a query that I set up in the Query Designer. The only thing I can't do is export from the Query designer. I click on the export button it does nothing, I click on file and export, it does nothing. It is the strangest thing. Any suggestions. I thought maybe I had a messed up .dll up somewhere? That is why I uninstalled and reinstalled, well it did not work. So I am looking for other suggestions.

That is weird, and you can export from the report designer OK? Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

Ken,

Yes I can export from the Report Designer just fine. I am really stumped. I did find an article at crystals web site, and it says to use the crpe32.dll from the developers edition, so Howard Hammerman sent it to me, but that did not help. I went and tested the another machine and it works fine.

Any suggestions?

I am going to guess that the domain change is treating you as a different user, and that the SQL designer was installed differently than the report designer. That would mean that you don't have access to something. Are you an Administrator on this PC? Is the PC that works also Win2K? Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

Ken,

Yes I am the Administrator in the PC, also the other PC I tested was on W2k.

Is this just about the oddest thing you have ever seen?

I can't think of anything else, unless there is something different about these PCs.
