Only the person (no background) or do you want to draw a box around the person and crop the rest of the picture?

That is a very general question.
The simple answer is - You need to remove the background.
There are many ways to do that but which method you use would depend on the type of background.

All the above posts are very correct, for sometimes removing the background can be extremely easy while other times it can be challanging. If you can describe the pic in detail it will help us prescribe a method or even better posting the pic to a website for us to view is the best way for us to make a method suggestion.
