help with connecting laptop in motel network

I obtain the ip addresses automatically I get the following ipconfig settings:

ipconfig/renew gives:an error occoured while renewing interface local network :unable to contact your DHCP server

You have to do ipconfig /release first, then ipconfig /renew.
The 169.254.x.x is an APIPA, or a Windows Automatic Private IP Address. You get that when you cannot connect.
Have you tried a different cable? Different port (like in the lobby)? Do you have a link light on the ethernet port of your laptop???

Another thing to note from the output is no default gateway assigned. (Yes I know it is a default MS ip, but a point to remember in the future)

ipconfig/release is ok
but ipconfig/ renew gives error

laptop port light is green
tried differnt cable and also differnt dsl modem

DSL modem??? I thought you're in a motel...did you bring your own modem?

its vdsl modem to connect to the network (lan)and internet

no not my modem but from here .

Well, are you the only one having trouble, or are others having trouble as well? If you are the only one, take the laptop down to the lobby or breakfast area, wherever they may have a public computer, and connect the laptop to that computer's internet connection. If that does not work, then start looking at a firewall blocking you, either on your end or the hotel's end. Let us know.

other peoples laptop connects successfully ..
i m not behind firewall have disabled the firewall.
and not the hotel is behind firewall

i m tried connecting my laptop where other person already had successfully connected it .

Maybe your TCP/IP stack needs to be rebuilt?

Was it working before you got to the hotel?

I have never done this but I have heard of people having to do this. You can google it and read more about it and make your own informed decision.

I meant did your laptop work fine till you got to the hotel?

i was using dialup connection before
but now i switched to motel then.. i got a network in which i can connect using vdsl modem
