i adminstrsted a Nortel 61C for the past about 8 years
yhen the company decided to switch to Cisco Unified call manager and it is adminstaredted by another company (outsourced)

i tried to find a course (ACUCMU)in Montreal area where i can learn (add move and change, auto atendant....) and could not find one yet
so, i decided to build my own lab and learn while looking for a course to be available

so, i got a Cisco 2811 Router, a CISCO 3750 Switch, 2 Cisco 7960

i had someone worked on the switch trying to help me, then he got other stuff to do and left me with 1\2 config. switch

presently i am looking for Aim-Cue
and someone to help build my lab
next week i will get an Amphenol and connect 2 analog phone

the show run command (when i first got the router showed
Cisco 2811(revision 53.50) with 249856K/12288K bytes of memory.
Processor board ID FHK1032F1CJ
2 Fast Ethernet interfaces
4 Voice FXO interfaces
12 Voice FXS interfaces
DRAM configuration is 64 bits wide with parity enabled.
239Kbytes of non-volatile configuration memory.
62720K bytes of ATA Compact Flash (Read/Write)
Configuration register is 0x2102

i have access to Cisco web site and can down load necesary software if needed and if i am told what to get

i was told that i need a Aim-Cue card and Aim-Cue12.3(8)T4
i need someone who know exactly what is needed to build this lab and know how to program it and make it functional
ad know where to get the Unity for a reasonble ptrice (used is ok) this system will be installed at home (my LAb)(so, i have one analog line that is it)
any help or advise?

Thanks Serge9

Hi,

You do not need an Amphenol to connect Analogy phones. You have a 12 port FXS interface so you can directly connect the analogue phones to those interfaces.

You can connect an outside (CO) line to the FXO interface.

You will however require DSP's :
An AIM-CUE card will allow for Voicemail and AutoAttendant so if you want this then you will need one. Unity is an alternate Voicemail System.

You can use the router to configure Call Manager Express but if you want the full Cisco Unified Comms Manager then you need the software for this. It installs well in a VMWare environment for lab purposes. (I believe that you cannot download this S/W from Cisco Website)

There is a lot involved in setting up a full lab with CUCM ,Unity - I suggest you go on the courses and use the lab for practice once you have the knowledge.

Thank you Akiwondo
sorry, i ment Call manger express and Unity express
i need to learn about move add and change, auto attendant
that is why i am trying to get this lab up and running
then i will have to go for CCNA course
i have been looking for ACUCMU course in montreal for the last 2 month and did not find one yet
mean while i need to get this system working prperly
yes, i willl have to Purchase a unity express, that is what i am looking for now

the config shows 12 port FXS interface but there is not actual FXS ports, there is an amphenol femal so, i must connectand ampenol , bix it, and connect analog phones

as is it does not seem that i will be able to do it on my own
i have to get an outside expert help

Yeah the Analog NM module requires a female 25 amphenol cable. You can pick one up at any local cable provider.

i got the aphenol
now i have to Bix it and see what happens

Can you get training on just the Call Manager and Unity VM without having any other Cisco certifications?

yes you can
those courses are mainly to adminstrate the call manager or CME and unity, add move and change etc..
but you can not set a test

Can you point me in the right direction for this?

where are you located
i am located in Montreal, and those cousres are Rare over here ( i am still activly looking for a ACUCMU in Montreal area)
on the other hand they Run more often in Toronto, Vancouver and US
look for ACUCM (Adminstering Cisco Unified Call manager) ACUCMU or ((Adminstering Cisco Unified Call manager and unity)
good luck to all of us

I am in Niles, MI. I did find a company in East Chicago that is an authorized Cisco dealer. My company is going to pay them for a four hour quick trainig session.
